Benlz: Why it's not possible to just buy the DLC for owners of the base version? It is 4,99€ on Steam.
Is it GOG's or developer's decision? Just curious. I'd like to know this too (they're probably under NDA), which reminds me that the upgrade paths for Pillars of Eternity are still not available on GOG either.Unfortunately it's in situations like these where I start to lose faith in GOG. DRM-Free shouldn't mean more expensive and I see no reason why the same game has to be priced differently between different stores. I don't mind that so much as not being able to buy the DLC separately. That's just crazy. There is no reason to require me to buy a lot of expensive stuff just to get the DLC.
It's not worth the cost of the upgrade package. Gilozard: I don't mind that so much as not being able to buy the DLC separately. That's just crazy. There is no reason to require me to buy a lot of expensive stuff just to get the DLC. It's not worth the cost of the upgrade package.
Well, I completly agree that it's very strange and not comprehensible why this DLC can't be bought separately like on Steam, there seems to be absolutely no reason. But on the other hand the DLC itself costs 5€ on Steam, the upgrade is 7,50€ and includes the next DLC as well (which will probably cost 5€ as well - if you buy both DLCs it's cheaper but who knows if you are interested in the next DLC too).
So I think it's not completly unreasonable (we are talking about 2,50€ more for a 30€ game with the high chance you get something interesting for the additional 2,50€) but still not a good and customer-friendly solution.
Hamburg – Daedalic Entertainmentand Funaticshave announced that the first DLC for Valhalla Hills is now available.
The Vikings are heading to the desert in today’s new DLC release for Valhalla Hills. The new DLC is free, and available via Steam now.
The first DLC of Valhalla Hills takes players right into the desert! Daedalic and Funatics add a whole new setting with this expansion: The Vikings travel from the northlands to the desert to settle on a much flatter mountain surrounded not by an ocean but by moving sands. Fishing is now only fishing in oases, before growing crops they have to install an irrigation system. And the desert is full of dangers: Mummies attack relentlessly and scorpions lurk in the sands.
In addition to the DLC a large update will add various new features. Dwellings, for example, have been overhauled and there will be new, better tools for hunters and couriers. Also the work flow of the Vikings has been optimized. They will now coordinate their tasks and goods will be delivered to the place they’re needed most.
